GETTING HERE

The tiny island of Sula, with its 57 permanent residents, is situated in the municipality of Frøya, Sør-Trøndelag county, almost as far West as you can get in Norway.

A beautiful journey will take you here. Either by the coastal express from Trondheim, bus and ferry, or through a varied agricultural mainland landscape with your own car, passing two sub sea tunnels and crossing the islands of Hitra and Frøya. From Dyrøy ferjekai at West-Frøya you´ll take the ferry boat to Sula.  Get the ferry itinerary here.  UPS! The ferry leaves from Dyrøy ferjekai to Lomsøya, which is connected to Sula by a small bridge.

From the centre of Trondheim to Dyrøy you´ll need approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes by car. The ferry trip, through a stunning archipelago, takes between 20 minutes and 1 hours and 40 minutes, depending on how many stops it makes. It normally stops at the neighbouring islands of Mausund and Bogøyvær.

The coastal express will take you through the fiord of Trondheim to Hitra, where you´ll continue by corresponding bus to Dyrøy ferjekai, and then by ferry to Sula. Get the itinerary here.
